- Born: February 4, 1902
- Died: October 19, 2002
He was born and raised in Mexico City, he also died in Mexico City. Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Mexico’s first principle artistic photographer. He is considered to be the most important figure in 20th century Latin American
photography. He first worked as a clerk for a French company and then for the Mexican Treasury Department, studying accounting in the evening. He had already left school by age 13. The following year he attended night classes at the San Carlos Academy in literature, painting, and music. One award that he attained is the Hasselblad Award. ( Below are two of my favorite pictures taken by Manuel Alvarez Bravo.)
