Unusual and interesting photos: Part 2

(Right) I picked this photo because of understanding how hard it is to leave the one you love whether it be; family, spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, friends. To leave and serve your country with all kinds of dangers about you, and those back home pray for your well being and safe return. The category I found it in was Returning Veterans, Coming Home. It was awarded HM (honorable mention). What attracted me was how the photographer was able to capture the moment at a perfect time. This picture is flawless, very amazing. It weighed a great deal towards the patriotism served, returning home to a loved one, and how heart warming it is to see the couple reunited. The photographer just added a black and white effect that really enhances the value, but other than that nothing. It is just a wonderful time capturing picture.

My reason for choosing this picture, (Left), is that it is very moving from my point of view. I found this picture in Photojournalist of the Year (smaller markets). It was awarded second place. The photographer was able to capture the emotion shown by the mother and girlfriend of a soldier whom was returning home to them. This photo was weighing again, a great deal, upon the judges who were looking at this photo. The photographer had to time and make sure it was a clean photograph without any blurs or anything.

My thoughts on choosing this picture had a lot to do with the description of what was said below the photo and what it said. It was really sad and heart breaking. I found this picture in the category of Natural Disaster. It was given second place. I think the judges had to take in the emotion and surroundings of the picture to really and truly feel the emotion captured within the photograph. The photographer had to really understand why the photo was the way it was, and how the elder man was feeling. Even the background had to be understandable in the taking of this picture. Everything had to be in sync with this mans emotion.
